Friday, February 14 at 10am, Mt Evelyn RSL held a brief commemorative service to honour our past National Servicemen that served our nation in four separate periods from 1911 to 1972.

Last week, our Vice President Chris McAleer and I had the privilege of presenting to the Mt Evelyn Community Bendigo Bank an RSL plaque recognising their long and valued support. Mt Evelyn Community Bendigo Bank has been operating and supporting local community groups for 22 years. They have supported our RSL every year of their existence and continue to do so. Their support has been invaluable and on behalf of Mt Evelyn RSL, thank you.

Yearly hard rubbish collection

Local hard rubbish collections have started and dates for Mt Evelyn are over two weeks, starting February 24 and March 3.

To find the week your hard rubbish will be collected you can put your street address into the search box on this page: https://www.yarraranges.vic.gov.au/Environment/Waste/Hard-rubbish

Items you can put out include:

Unwanted furniture that cannot be donated or reused by others
Metals (max 1.5m length and 50kg per item)
Whitegoods (fridge doors must be removed)
Electronic waste – eg. computers, televisions, monitors, all other battery and power-operated items and items with an electrical cord
Mattresses
Up to 10 pieces of timber (not fencing)
Glass, shower screens and mirrors - wrapped and clearly marked as glass

Items must not be placed out more than one week before your collection week.
